Dana White says that UFC 196 is going to be huge.
The UFC President spoke with reporters at Friday nights EA Sport UFC 2 launch, White said that UFC is tracking to be a huge a financial hit. Even more so since Nate Diaz stepped up on just 11 days notice after light weight champ Rafael dos Anjos pulled out injured.
I’m sure you see it, I’m sure you feel it, I’m sure it’s trending in your businesses right now. This fight is off the f*cking charts. Off the charts. This fight is gonna be massive. It might be one of the biggest fights we’ve ever done.
Yes there was some real heat between dos Anjos and McGregor but there is something about having a Diaz involved that makes this fight so much more….. so much more FUN. Diaz has always been a huge fan favourite thanks his care free attitude and aggressive fighting style. He talks more than dos Anjos and has done his part to sell the fight on just under two weeks notice.
Diaz has been a stud, showing up to everything on time, done everything that was asked of him, was a big part of Embedded, went on the interviews today — even the ones he didn’t like. He’s been awesome. I don’t want to sound condescending and like a goof and say i am proud of Nate, but Nate has been awesome.
The buzz and drama surrounding the night’s main event has fallen in place with the co-main event very nicely as Holly Holm and Miesha Tate have quietly gone about their business. That mixed with a solid under card makes UFC 196 as a whole, a very exciting card.
