A very exciting lightweight fight has been added to UFC 199.
Two top 15 lightweight contenders will meet in the Octagon as Dustin Poirier and Bobby King are set to lock horns on June 4.
The bout was first announced by the Brian Martin of the Los Angeles Daily News late on Monday.
Poirier (19-4) is set to get back into action on a three fight win streak after most recently getting the nod in a very tough affair over Joesph Duffy. A former 145-pound fighter “The Diamond” looks spectacular since making the divisional jump. Currently 3-0 since going up in weight Poirier has wins over Diego Ferreira, Yancy Mederios and the above mentioned Joe Duffy.
Bobby Green (23-6) is making his first appearance since November 2014 in a fight in which he dropped to Edson Barboza via unanimous decision. A Strikeorce veteran who came into the UFC and made a huge statement by beating the likes of Pat Healy and Josh Thompson. Unfortunately for Green his UFC career has been riddled with injury and hopefully for Bobby and his fans he can stay healthy and live upto the potential he obviously possesses.
UFC 199 is set to go down on June 4 from the Forum in Inglewood, California and is headlined by the middleweight title rematch between Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman.
