After months of planning and negotiations EFC Worldwide has landed a huge broadcast deal with e.tv, a free-to-air channel that will put the promotion’s broadcasts in over 50 million more homes with in South Africa.
During previous live events that were broadcast on the channel (EFC12 – EFC 19) a record audience of over 1.6 million viewers tuned in to watch the ever growing sport. The promotion increased e.tv’s viewership for the timeslot by 31.5% and demographics crossed all race and income groups.
In a press release EFC President Cairo Howarth stated just what a monumental deal this is not only for the promotion but the sport as a whole.
This is absolutely huge for EFC, e.tv and the sport of MMA. It’s a deal we have been working on for some time and we are are ecstatic. It is great for e.tv, the EFC and its partners, the athletes and the fans. This partnership provides an even greater platform for the sport of MMA to grow.
EFC has a huge following in South Africa and we are delighted to give South African MMA fans events for free on terrestrial television and to be able to reach the whole country.
All future events will take place on Friday evenings and will be broadcast live on Kwesè Sports and then shown delayed live on e.tv.
