It’s been a great week for ‘Cupcake’.
Just days after signing a new UFC contract we found out that women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate will defend her title against Amanda Nunes at UFC 200.
Tate (18-5) is coming off of her fifth-round submission over former champion Holly Holm at UFC 196. In what was her second crack at promotional gold, Tate was able to finally be crowned a UFC champion with a rear-naked choke. Since her 2013 loss to Ronda Rousey, Tate has gone 5-0 with wins over Liz Carmouche, Rin Nakai, Sara McMann, Jessica Eye and most recently Holly Holm.
Nunes (12-4) is also bringing her own hot streak into the meeting. After her last loss to Cat Zingano in 2014 “The Lioness” has won three straight over Shayna Baszler, Sara McMann and the very same night Tate was crowned champion Nunes beat Valentina Shevchenko in a very exciting bout.
This fight is just another great and exciting addition to an already stacked card which is headlined by a rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz.
