We are just over a week away from the debut of former WWE superstar CM Punk. He is set to take on Mickey Gall at UFC 203. Gall is currently unbeaten in the UFC after being signed by Dana White on an Episode of his hit series ‘Lookin for a fight’.
In the lead up to next weeks clash the two men featured on a pre-fight confrence call and well it was as entertaining as we all expected.

Donald Cerrone appeared on the JRE podcast on Tuesday and dropped some knowledge on his next fight.
Fresh off a second-round destruction of Rick Story at UFC 202 Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone called out the current lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez. Now we all know the two have history as it was Cerrone who welcomed Alvarez into the UFC in September 2014 at UFC 178. On that night it was ‘Cowboy’ who walked away with the win and now that Alvarez has the gold Cerrone wants in.
Now that all changed after Cerrone caught wind of the fact that former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler had been calling UFC president Dana White everyday to get himself a fight. Lawer lost his title to Tyron Woodley earlier this month and is more than ready to get back on the road to title contention. Cerrone laid down the challenge with the only stipulation being the fight had to be in New York inside the world-renowned Madison Square Garden arena where the promotion makes its debut in November.
On Tuesday afternoon Cerrone sat down with Joe Rogan for an episode of his JRE Podcast and after a few cold ones the conversation moved onto Cerrone and his career. During the conversation ‘Cowboy’ hinted about his next fight.
“It’s not 100-percent yet, but it’s going to be f*cking good,” Cerrone said. “Hopefully, today we get the double thumbs up.”
Cerrone mentioned how he would potentially be matched up against his girlfriend’s favourite fighter (other than him) at the MSG show in November. A fan tweeted Cerrone’s other half Lindsay Sheffield and asked who her favourite fighter was and well the answer is what mma match-making dreams are made of.
Just the thought of these two going at in front of a sold out Madison Square Garden gives me goosebumps. Two long time veterans of the sport who each optimise the meaning of the word fighter. Two men who just want to throwdown and then be friends after. No bad blood, no trash talk just a good old fashioned dust up with the loser potentially being the one to buy the drinks.
The fight makes perfect sense. Cerrone is on a tear at 170-pounds right now after going staright through Alex Oliveira, Patrick Cote and Rick Story. A win over the former champion will surely spring ‘Cowboy’ into future title contention. For Lawler the road back to the title may well be through the rising star in the divison and by taking out Donald Cerrone, Lawler could find himself fighting for the belt sonner than he may think.
The possibility of the highly anticipated rematch between Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson just went up a notch.
Newely crowned middleweight champion Michael Bisping dropped a bomb shell earlier today during a homecoming in Manchester, England.
Bisping is on a media tour of the U.K after his KO victory over Luke Rockhold at UFC 199 earlier this month and today during his first media stop in Manchester dropped a not so small hint regrading his next fight and his possible opponent.
Well when you’re the champion you get to the call the shots so I’m telling you right now my next fight will be in Manchester.
Bring Dan Henderson in here and I will knock him out for fun.
In the past 7-10 days the rumoured rematch between Bisping and Dan Henderson has gained much momentum. Sam Alvey who is a UFC fighter and training partner of one Dan Henderson also posted an interesting picture regarding the potential rematch.
*Note: No official announcements have been made by the UFC or Dan Henderson.
Two men who are in need of a win to keep their promotional dreams alive will meet in Vancuver.
South Africa’s only UFC fighter is heading to Canada as Garreth “Soldier Boy” McLellan is set to take on Italian Alessio di Chirico in a very interesting middleweight scrap.
McLellan (13-4) is coming into the meeting off of a TKO loss to Magnus Cedenblad in May at UFC Rotterdam. The former EFC middleweight champion goes into his fourth outing with a 1-2 promotional record with his only win being a TKO win over Bubba Bush last April in Ireland, a loss could well be the end of his UFC career. Fighting out of Johannesburg the South African has never dropped back-to-back losses and will be looking to get back to winning ways in Canada.
The 26-year old di Chirico (9-1) dropped his UFC debut to Bojan Velickovic in April. The Italian won the 2014 IMAAF light heavyweight gold medal and is now focused at making a run in the big leagues. In search of that ever elusive first UFC win di Chirico has a tough challenge ahead of him and will be looking to get the taste of defeat out of his mouth come fight night.
Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson was a fighter through and through. Regardless of who is opponent was and how he felt about the man stood opposite him inside the fenced in walls of an MMA cage Kimbo always demanded but above all else gave respect.
It was way back in 2008 that I stumbled across a video of a fight in a garden somewhere in America. Immediately I became a fan of the man with the gold teeth and beard. I followed Kimbo on his journey from the backyard into the life of a pro athlete inside the Elite XC cage and beyond.
This man was a walking success story. A true from rags to riches tail unfolded before our eyes as he became a huge household name.
No words could ever truly do this man and the legacy he has left behind any justice. A modern day gladiator taken from his collesuem too soon.
Michael Bisping may be the KING at cutting promo’s, and he’s at it again.
If you have been around the fight game for last decade or so then you are familiar with a man who’s ability to sell a fight are second to none. That man? Michael Bisping.
The British standout has been a long perinail contender in the 185-pound division and after 25 fights inside the Octagon “The Count” gets his a shot at UFC gold. Taking on an old foe in Luke Rockhold who won the belt when he stopped Chris Weidman earlier this year, the pre-fight chatter between the two has been, as you can imagine, EPIC!
Yesterday Bisping spoke to media and cut one of the best promo’s of his career.
Ay I’ve said it before. Two years, two months, two week, two days I don’t care. Half of the UFC roster are pussies, they wouldn’t take this fight. Jacare wouldn’t take this fight. It makes me sick. I will fight anyone, anywhere at anytime.
In what can only be explained as being 25-seconds of pure fight selling gold the brash Brit goes into more vivid detail of how he sees the fight playing out on Saturday.
It’s been a busy week in the world of the UFC and with the Sunday’s Las Vegas card approaching things will only get busier.
Stipe Miocic headlines UFC 203 against Alistair Overeem
After Cleveland’s own Stipe Miocic won the UFC Heavyweight title after brutally knocking out Fabricio Werdum he is set to defend his belt against one the world’s better known and most dangerous strikers, Alistair Overeem. UFC 203 will mark the first time the promotion will be in Cleveland and with Miocic being the hometown hero one can only imagine a packed house come fight night.
Miocic (15-2) is a winner of six of his last seven bouts which includes recent finishes of Mark Hunt and Andrei Arlovski. Since winning the title in under three minutes Miocic has become even popular due to single handedly ending the 52-year pro sports championship drought.
Overeem (41-14-1) is currently riding a hot streak of his own after two back-to-back finishes of Andrei Arlovski and Junior dos Santos. Having won four straight and six of his last seven the former Dream, Strikeforce and K-1 champion is after the one belt that he has always dreamt of capturing, the UFC heavyweight title.
UFC 203 takes place September 10 at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland Ohio.
Matt Brown gets quick turn around, faces Jake Ellenberger at UFC 201
An exciting welterweight bout been added to an already exciting UFC 201 card in Atlanta as Matt Brown and Jake Ellenberger will lock horns in what should be a slugfest.
Brown (20-14) is coming off of a tough third round submission loss to Demian Maia earlier this month at UFC 198 and is looking to rebound quickly against a tough opponent. Brown has found it tough to get a W in recent times as he has dropped three of his last four but with eight wins in last eleven outings the No. 8 ranked welterweight in the world could be right back in title contention with a dominant win in Atlanta.
Ellenberger (30-11) has always been a tough and dangerous opponent for anyone and was once considered to be on the verge of a title shot. Unfortunately for the 31-year old UFC veteran he has dropped five of his last six, with a loan submission win over Josh Koscheck in 2015. While his career may have fallen on hard times of late, Ellenberger still shows glimpses of the greatness that once had him on the cusp of title contention.
UFC 201 takes place July 30 at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia and is headlined by a welterweight title bout between Robbie Lawler and Tyron Woodley.
